I AM EMBRACING 40

On March 14, 2009 I gave myself a Hollywood theme 40th Birthday party. When I say that the party was the party of the year it truly was. I had been planning the party since November 2008 and thought that March 14, 2009 would never make it here. But all the sweat and drama I had it was worth every bit of it.

I had a red carpet event that was hosted by my sister and one of my best friends. The video man was my husband and the video is just completely hilarious. I had my own camera crew there and they took over 600 pictures of the event. I wore a black short cocktail dress with feathers on the bottom from Fredericks of Hollywood. One of my best friends bought the dress and said this is what I had to wear. The dress was a perfect fit with my 4 inch heels to go along with the dress. I made my grand entrance to Hollywood Swinging by Kool And The Gang and the night was full of dancing.

On March 18, 2009 I turned 40 and you better believe that I am embracing it and beliving life only gets better from here.

I asked myself will I give myself another party before I turn 50 and I said I doubt it. But I don't know what I will do at 50 to top this party at 40.

Remember to embrace life because life is to short.

I made homemade salsa

Hello All:

I haven't updated my blog in a few weeks. Besides work and school this is what I have been doing making homemade salsa. For you salsa pro's this is a no brainer, but for the beginners like me here is the receipe that I used.
6 Roma red tomatoes
1 pinch of Oregano
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1 tablesppon of crushed garlic
6 Medium Tomatillo
6-8 Jalapeno peppers
1/4 cup of Cilantro
1/2 onions

Boil jalapeno, tomatillo, and tomatoes together for 10 minutes ( don't over cook) then let it cool.
In a blender blend the cooked jalapeno, tomatillo, and tomatoes. Add about 1 cup of water with the oregano, salt and chopped onions.

Serve with CHIPS!!
